The High Coast distillery is located about 500 km to the north of Stockholm in Sweden at a latitude of 63° North in a place where the temperature variations in the warehouse can be as much as 70 degrees between a hot summer and a winter of 30 degrees below zero, which inevitably influences the maturation of the whisky. This 6 year old single malt is aged in first-fill ex-Kentucky bourbon casks and then re-casked for an extra maturation in first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, some of them matured the sherry for 15 years. Re-worked casks of various sizes are used for its maturation, ranging from 55 litres (more than half used) to 250 litres.
