Pokeno is a young New Zealand distillery founded in 2017 located about fifty kilometres south of Auckland on the North Island. With a focus on terroir, the distillery uses barley from the South Island, a long 80-hour fermentation and slow distillation that characterise its whisky. This Pokeno Origin was aged in first-fill ex-Bourbon casks.
Tasting notes from the distillery: An incredibly smooth and round whisky, with lovely notes of citrus fruit, honey, grapefruit and creamy toffee, giving way to a complex, lingering finish.
