Description
This 8-year-old Glenallachie is part of a series released in 2019 exploring different casks for the finish. It is matured in American oak barrels with an additionnal maturation period in Organic Rye Quarter Casks from Chicago's Koval. The wood-liquid ratio is much larger and the spicy characteristic of rye dominates this whisky. A whisky bottled without chill filtration with its natural colour.
Tasting notes of the distillery:
On the nose: Full and rich spices, cinnamon and nutmeg with waves of honey and butterscotch.
On the palate: Intense sweet spices enriched with honey, butterscotch, cooking apples and cloves.
