Description
This single malt is proposed by bottler Hunter Laing in its Old Malt Cask range. A peated whisky aged for 12 years in an ex-Manzanilla butt. This whisky was distilled in February 2011 and bottled with its natural colour and without chill filtration in October 2023.
Tasting notes by the team at Rêves de Whisky & Friends: On the nose, wood fire smoke comes in at the end, followed by the sweetness of a baked apple. On the palate, a spicy kick followed by all the sweetness of Grandma's fruitcake. The very pleasant finish is long and rather dry, with a hint of bitterness. Without doubt, this is a richly complex whisky that should delight Islay enthusiasts.
