This single malt is produced at the Glengyle distillery, the little sister of the Springbank distillery, reopened in 2004. For this 16-year-old, the recipe is almost the same as for the 12-year-old, with a slight variation in the composition, which for this Batch 2024 is composed of 70% bourbon casks, 20% sherry casks and 10% rum casks.
Tasting notes of the distillery: On the nose, pineapple, morello cherry and sweet peat smoke. On the palate, tropical fruit dominates with mango, papaya, coconut and vanilla, including a hint of apricot. The finish is more mineral, peppery and minty.
