Description
The Springbank Distillery is a must for any whisky lover, especially when looking for authenticity and a traditional craftsmanship. This Springbank 10 Year Old distilled in July 2013 is part of a series exploring the maturation work with sherry casks. It is a whisky that has previously matured for 6 years in re-fill ex-bourbon casks before spending a further 4 years in fresh American oak hogshead casks ex Palo Cortado Sherry. This single malt was bottled in September 2023 with its natural colour and without chill filtration.
Tasting notes from the distillery: On the nose, notes of violets, buttercream and peach, as well as hints of cola and grated ginger. On the palate, gentle peat smoke is complemented by notes of butter cake, cocoa, strawberries and icing sugar. The finish is waxy, with notes of orange peel and a continuity of peat smoke.
