Only few distilleries in Scotland still operating with direct heating of the stills with coal. A process used by Ardmore Distillery until 2002 before switching to indirect steam heating. So with this Ardmore 20 years we have an old-fashioned touch. Added to that a light peat well controlled and we have a direct whiskey without fuss. Distilled in 1996, this whisky is aged in a single hogshead cask of second filling. Bottled in 2016 at cask strength without chill filtration with its natural color. A limited edition of 124 bottles.
Slightly peated.
