Inchmoan means the island of the peat in Gaelic, which already heralds the aromatic profile of this whisky. This single malt was made with two types of stills, one with a traditional swan neck and the other with a straight neck to create an unconventional peaty character with lots of depth, marrying smoke and spiciness. The whisky is then aged for 12 years in three types of American oak casks, ex-bourbon, refill and recharred.
Tasting notes by the Rêves de Whisky team: On the nose, herbal notes with a soft dry smoke. On the palate, citrusy notes with black pepper and cloves are joined by a light peatiness with a hint of leather and an orchard fruit finish.
