We've been waiting patiently to discover a whisky from the Ardnahoe distillery for some time now, and here it is, a 5-year-old peated at 40ppm. For this inaugural, limited-edition release, the whisky has been matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon casks (75%) and ex-Oloroso Sherry casks (25%). This single malt is bottled with its natural colour and without chill filtration.
Tasting notes by the Rêves de Whisky team: On the nose, fresh Islay peat with grassy notes, vanilla and golden apple. On the palate, butter biscuit and candied ginger with a touch of cola candy. The finish lingers on peat with a hint of wood fire, and the initial smooth impression evolves into a drier finish.
