Crossing through the peat bogs, the small lake (Loch Uigeadail) supplies water to the Ardbeg distillery and gives its name to this single malt. Like a typical Islay whisky, its peat level is measured at 50ppm. This Ardbeg Uigeadail is the result of a marriage of young intense whiskies aged in first and second fill bourbon casks, for 10 to 13 years with older whiskies aged in sherry casks that bring it roundness. Excellent after a good meal!
