This 28 year old Buichladdich is proposed by the bottler Meadowside in its Maltman range. The whisky was distilled in April 1993 and matured in a refill Hogshead cask. It's a cask strength whisky which will appeal to some for its strength in alcohol which has well diminished over the time. It is bottled in December 2021 with its natural colour and without chill-filtration.
Tasting notes by the bottler: The nose has some porridge and golden syrup notes, let it breathe and some green apples and pear aromas come forward. The palate is smooth and creamy with some sponge cake. On the second sip more fruit appears pineapple and a touch of strawberry. The finish is very elegant and floral, nice warmth and some fudge notes appearing at the end.
