Description
A smooth peaty delight, 35ppm for this Caol Ila proposed by Meadowside Blending in The Maltman range. This whisky was distilled in May 2008 and aged for 14 years in a single, refill Hogshead cask. It was bottled in January 2023 in an edition of 296 bottles, undiluted, without chill filtration and with its natural colour.
Tasting notes by the bottler: A nice nose with medicinal aromas and hints of peat smoke and freshly cut apple. The palate is creamy and smooth with sponge cake, smoky vanilla, toasted brown sugar, and expect a little salty liquorice coming through. The finish is long and warming with some subtle fruit notes and lingering smoke.
