The distillate of this Candid comes from Scotland, and more precisely from the Isle of Islay. A batch of a peaty whisky which is matured in France in the dry, then highly humid part of the Couvreur house caves in Pedro Ximenez casks for 9 years. For bottling, its 53% natural strength was slightly reduced to 49%.
Peated.
Maison Couvreur tasting notes:
A fresh and floral fragrance then toasted almonds notes. On the palate, fresh and direct, alternating roundness and peaty liquorice. The finish is expressed on a sweet freshness of almond, peppery and spicy, and a lightly woody toasted structure.
