There are now two distilleries on the island of Arran. In the north, Arran (recently renamed Lochranza) and in the south of the island since 2019 its little sister Lagg which focuses on the production of peated whisky. This Kilmory edition is elaborated with the Concerto barley variety, peat from the north-east of Scotland at 50ppm and matured in first-fill bourbon casks.
Tasting notes of the distillery: On the nose, heather smoke and charred citrus fruit. On the palate, the explosion of fruit gives way to subtle campfire smoke. The finish is long and persistent.
