This is a rum from Guyana made with molasses that are distilled in pot-stills and column-stills which brings multiple aromas to the rum. It is then aged in ex-bourbon American oak barrels that give it a nice creamy sweetness. It finally spends an extra 12 months in fresh ex-Oloroso and ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry butts that reinforce its spicy character. Various vintages compose this 2019 edition to which a small percentage of very old Enmore rum is added for further complexity.
Tasting notes by the Rêves de Whisky team: A rum with a nice sweetness and a hint of bitterness with notes of ripe fruits, dried raisins, dark chocolate and coffee.
