The Knockdhu distillery was founded in 1893 on the eastern edge of the Speyside region in the Highlands. In 1993, its whiskies were renamed AnCnoc in order to avoid confusion with those of its neighbour Knockando. This AnCnoc 18 year old was aged in Spanish oak ex-sherry casks and American oak ex-bourbon barrels. It is bottled with its natural colour and without chill-filtration.
Tasting notes of the distillery: On the nose, sweet spices and dried fruits, chocolate, oranges and oiled leather. On the palate, full-bodied with spice, fruit loaf and candied lemon followed by a hint of vanilla, honey and caramel. The finish transforms from peppery and hot to deliciously sweet and smooth.
