The source of Black Burn water that feeds the distillery was already famous in the 19th century when about fifty illicit stills were operating until 1823, date of the legalisation. It is only a year later, in 1824, that the Miltonduff distillery was founded.
Much of its production goes into the compositon of Ballantine's but it is quite another thing that we have here with this unreduced single cask. Distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2013 after aging in a refill hogshead. Limited to 166 bottles.
