Description
This rum is distilled in the legendary 250 year old double wooden pot still from the Port Mourant Distillery known for its unique style. This very limited release showcases the most intense and rich style of all Demerara rums. It’s a very intense rum, with its distinct dry flavour palette, rich in esters, black coffee, liquorice, gentian root and medicinal herbs. Underneath the dark, leathery character, flowery notes of lavender and fruity notes of juicy red cherries emerge, intensified by the last 5 years of maturation in sherry casks. This molasses rum was distilled in 1999 and aged for 21 years: 16 were spent in Guyana and Europe in second-fill bourbon casks, the remaining 5 years in 3 second-fill sherry casks. 866 bottles result form this small batch proposed by Rum Nation.
