Description
Since 1973 Longrow represents the peated whiskies of the Springbank distillery, and for the Red editions, each year a different type of red wine cask is used to mature the whisky. For this annual edition, this Longrow was matured for 7 years in bourbon casks, then for 4 years in fresh tawny port barrels. This single malt was bottled at cask strength and without chill filtration in 2022.
Tasting notes from the distillery: On the nose, cellar humidity with notes of redcurrants, blackberries and cola. On the palate, notes of sweet red fruit, honey and the smoke of barbecued meats. The finish has notes of rhubarb cream, grilled almonds and peat that intensify on the finish with a salty, nutty touch.
