Description
The Springbank Distillery is a must for any whisky lover, especially when looking for authenticity and a traditional craftsmanship. This Springbank 10 Year Old distilled in July 2012 is part of a series exploring the maturation work with sherry casks. It is a whisky that has previously matured for 7 years in re-fill ex-bourbon casks before spending a further 3 years in fresh Spanish oak hogshead casks ex Pedro Ximenez Sherry. This single malt was bottled in October 2022 with its natural colour and without chill filtration.
Tasting notes from the distillery: On the nose, a rich sherry influence with sweet notes of sultanas and dates. On the palate, tannic and spicy with notes of cola, mint, cherry, cinnamon and toffee. The finish is tannic and the qualities of the PX come to the fore with notes of sultanas and spices.
