Description
In its 200 years of existence, the Port Dundas distillery has survived fire several times, and operated from the heart of Glasgow until 2010, the date of its closure. This single grain whisky was distilled in July 2004 and then aged for 18 years, including an extra maturation in an ex-PX Sherry Butt, until June 2023, when it was bottled with its natural colour and without chill filtration in an edition of 452 bottles.
Tasting notes from the bottler: On the nose, rich, with a background of cereals and spices, plus a bag of caramel and ripe black fruit. On the palate it has the same spicy style, with hints of treacle, honey and brown sugar. The finish continues with these aromas and a touch of vanilla.
