Located on the banks of the river Teith and not far from the castle of Doune that is often used as a film set location (such as Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Game of Thrones, Outlander, Outlaw King or Ivanhoe), is the Deanston distillery in lovely red bricks. There they distilled this single malt in June 2008 which was then aged in a single cask, a refill Butt, for 15 years. The whisky was bottled as it is in August 2023, without chill-filtration and with its natural colour for an edition of 667 bottles.
Tasting notes of the bottler: On the nose, a peppery note gives way to cocoa, juicy grapes and damp oak. On the palate, enveloping molasses notes develop, giving way to ripe plums, creamy malt and rich mocha. Black toffee and cinnamon linger on the finish, alongside stewed autumn fruit.
