The Tullibardine distillery is located on the site of an old brewery in the southern Highlands in Blackford. For the record, in 1488 King James IV en route to his coronation at Scone stopped there to have a beer. The place was already recognised at the time for the quality and purity of its water from the Ochil Hills, one of the main ingredients for the production of a good whisky. This Tullibardine 500, on the market since 2013, is first aged in bourbon casks before finishing for another 12 months in Pedro Ximenez sherry butts of 500 litres.
