Description
This Balvenie The Week of Peat is peated at 30ppm with peat from the north-east Speyside village of New Pitsligo. It is directly inspired by what is done on Islay in terms of peated whiskies while keeping a typical Speyside character. In order not to perfume all the range with peat, it is only one week a year just before the main cleaning of the stills that it is distilled. The whisky is then aged for 14 years in American oak barrels.

Tasting notes of the distillery:
On the nose, gentle sweet peat smoke, lighter floral notes and delicate butterscotch honey.
On the palate, velvety and round to taste with the peat smoke balancing citrus flavours, oaky vanilla and blossom honey.
The finish, gentle smoke with a lingering and creamy vanilla sweetness.
